Ludhiana, December 3, 2015: After three children from migrant families died of burn injuries due to LPG leakage in Sherpur area of the city few days back, Punjab Parwasi Bhalai Board chairman Mr Ram Charan Yadav today visited the family members and announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the family members. Mr Yadav, accompanied by other board members, assured the family members that the Punjab government would help them financially for the treatment of their another child who is undergoing treatment at PGIMER Chandigarh.
      While speaking to media persons, Mr Yadav said that this compensation amount of Rs 1 lakh each would be given to the family very soon. Terming this incident unfortunate, Mr Yadav said that when he visited the area, he found that the residents are living in very unhygienic conditions and the entire area is home of diseases. He said that it seems that the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has ignored this area. Mr Yadav said that he would apprise the Chief Minister about the living conditions in Sherpur area of the city.
      He said that Shiromani Akali Dal (Parwasi Wing) leader Mr Chandrabhan Chauhan has collected Rs 21,000 from the party's local wing and handed over to the family for the treatment of their injured child at PGIMER Chandigarh. He said that he would meet and urge the Chief Minister for more funds for treatment of the injured child.
      "I would also ask the Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana to help the family in maximum way possible and that he should arrange some medicines through the District Red Cross Society as well," said Mr Ram Charan Yadav.
