Punjab gets ‘krishi karaman award’ in record agriculture production

Chandigarh, February 12, 2014: The ‘Krishi Karman Award 2012-13’ has been bestowed on Punjab for record wheat and paddy production. Gurbachan Singh Babbehali, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Agriculture and Director Dr. Mangal Singh Sandhu received the award from Pranab Mukherjee, President of India during the award distribution ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi.
Further divulging the details, the spokesperson of the Agriculture Department said that Punjab has been the largest contributor of food grains in the central pool for the last five years.
