PU VC emphasised role of teachers to lead

Chandigarh, July 12, 2023: Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh emphasised the role of teachers to lead by example in the inaugural function of the 8-days Universal Human Values-II Self Funded FDP organized by Panjab University, Chandigarh under RUSA scheme in association with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), from July 12, 2023, to July 19, 2023. The program aims to enhance the understanding and knowledge of universal human values.

Life experiences shape attitudes but it is the values of ethical practices, compassion, honesty, positive thinking which help us to  shape organisational climate. Life is not a bed of roses but it is the value based living which helps to deal with vagaries of life. It is one of the verticals of NEP to provide value based education and teachers need to integrate it in their classroom transactions. 

The Inaugural function for the program took place at the Seminar Hall, Academic Block-I, UIET Campus, Sector 25, Panjab University.  Prof. Latika Sharma, Coordinator UHV Cell welcomed the dignitaries and the participants to the first workshop of the Cell. 

Prof. JK Goswami, Director gave the opening remarks, Prof Rajiv Puri, Coordinator Rusa informed about the various projects and seminars funded by RUSA. Dr. Rajesh Coordinator for the FDP delivered the formal vote of thanks. Forty plus participants  are going to attend this innovative FDP by the AICTE team of Sh. Jatinder Narula, Dr priyadarshini and Dr. Munshi Yadav.
The organising team of Prof Manu Sharma, Dr. Gaurav Sapra and Dr. Garima are coordinating the fulfillment of conditions for certification of participants. The first three days are devoted to self exploration to understand  self and purpose of life .
