PU Senate approve Honorary degrees and Panjab University Ratna Awards

Chandigarh, May 9, 2023: Panjab University Senate in its meeting held today approved the following:
•    Honorary degree of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) (honoris causa) be conferred on Dr. Gagandeep Kang, FRS.
•    Honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) be conferred on Sumitra Mahajan, Ex-Lok Sabha Speaker
•    Honorary degree of Doctor of Literature (D.Lit.) (honoris causa) be conferred on Dr. Sudha N. Murti, Educator, Author and Philanthropist and Chairperson of the Infosys Foundation
•    Honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (honoris causa) be conferred on Hon’ble Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Former Chief Justice of India, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha).
 
Panjab University Senate has also approved the following Panjab University Ratna Awards to be conferred on:
 
•    Dr. Rattan Singh Jaggi (Gyan Ratna)
•    Dr. Veena Tandon (Vigyan Ratna)
•    Sh. Neeraj Chopra (Khel Ratna)
•    Dr. Irshad Kamil (Sahitya Ratna)
•    Rakesh Bharti Mittal (Udyog Ratna)
•    Ayushmann Khurana (Kala Ratna)
