PU Campus and affiliated colleges teachers abstained from evaluation process of answer sheets

Chandigarh, May 26, 2016: Some Panjab University (PU) Campus and affiliated colleges teachers today abstained from the evaluation process of answer sheets at PU. The teachers were protesting against the latest gazette notification by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The Registrar Col. G.S. Chadha (Retd.) and Controller of Examinations Prof Parvinder Singh were present at the evaluation centre. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover reached the spot and appealed to the teachers to evaluate the answer sheets and not to boycott the evaluation process.

Prof Grover said that as a teacher it was their prime responsibility to evaluate the performance of students at the end of academic session. “You should not mix up the protest with your responsibilities. This would result in delay in declaration of results, which would have adverse impact on the career of the students and bring bad name to the University”, he added.
