PU 2-day workshop “Tatkar-2023”

Chandigarh, February 7, 2023: The Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised two days workshop “Tatkar-2023” on Teaching Areas and Techniques in Kathak: Academic and Aesthetic Review under Skill Enhancement Initiatives programme on February 6-7.  

Vidushi Kajal Sharma was the resource person who delivered lecture-cum-demonstration on topics “Lay and Laykari” on first day of workshop and on next day she beautifully presented concepts of “Importance of Gharana in Music”. On this occasion Dr. Gerhard Stangl, Doctor of Osteopathy, U.K also delivered lecture on “how to deal with physical injuries with Osteopathy therapy”.

On this occasion, Professor Neelam Paul Chairperson, Department of Music stated that such lectures and demonstrations add great values to the skills of students.  The students, Research Scholars as well as faculty members acquired various technical and professional skills. The event was successfully conducted by Dr. Rai Bahadur Singh, Assistant Professor, Govt. Mohindra College, Patiala and Alumni, Department of Music, Panjab University.
