Chandigarh December 2, 2025: Prof. Om Prakash Katare, a distinguished academician, researcher, and mentor in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, has been conferred with the prestigious APTI Pharmacy Teacher of Eminence Award (Dr. N. Udupa, Manipal Award) for the year 2025.
The award will be presented during the 74th APTI Annual Convention and Award Ceremony, scheduled to be held from 19thto 21stDecember 2025 at Bengaluru. This honour recognizes Prof. Katare’s outstanding contributions to pharmacy education, research, innovation, and mentorship over more than three decades of dedicated service.
Prof. Katare is widely known for his pioneering work in drug delivery, formulation development, translational research, and industry–academia collaborations. His significantly contribution in advancing Research and Innovation, Patents and commercialized novel nano-liposomal technology infused Pharmaceutical Products could earn many prestigious national and international recognitions and awards likeDBT Tech-transfer National Award 2007 by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, President of India, OPPI Scientist Award 2011, Best Patent Award 2012 by IABMS Society, APTI Best Pharmaceutical Scientist Award 2017.Remarkably, his research efforts stands apart as it brought significant money returns in then term of Royalty and Funding from industries to Panjab University.
The APTI Pharmacy Teacher of Eminence Award is one of the most respected national recognitions award which specifically honours educators who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and long-term contributions to the growth and development of pharmaceutical sciences in India.
Prof Katare has served various eminent leadership positions like Chairperson UIPS (2005-08), Dean Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, (2011-12), Director Research Promotion Cell (2015-17) of Panjab University.
