Ludhiana, November 2, 2018: Web portal, www.psbloansin59minutes.com, a transformative initiative in Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) credit space, which will enable in principle approval for MSME loans up to Rs. 1 crore within 59 minutes from SIDBI and 5 Public Sector Banks (PSBs) was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi today. A programme for the live broadcast of this programme was organised at Government College for Girls, here, in which Union Minister Ajay Tamta was the chief guest. The live broadcast of this programme was shown in 100 districts of the country, and Ludhiana was one of them. During today’s function at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, the Prime Minister also made 11 other important announcements. During his address, he also appreciated the contribution of Ludhiana’s hosiery industry in development of our nation. While addressing the gathering, Union Minister Ajay Tamta said that Ludhiana’s industry is the backbone of our country’s economy, which would always be appreciated by the Union government. He said that at present, there are around 6.5 crore MSME units in our country, and these are providing employment to 11 crore persons and support the economy of 26 crore other people. He said it is need of the hour to support all MSME’s so that maximum number of people can be associated with them. Earlier, Rajya Sabha member Shwet Malik said that the Union government firmly believes in “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” and all its policies and welfare schemes are based on it. He urged that maximum number of people as well as the state governments should take maximum benefit of these schemes. He also briefed the audience about the welfare schemes being started by the Union government and said that people should come forward and become industrialists as the government would always support them wholeheartedly. During the function, stalls by various banks, financial institutions and private companies were also set up at the venue. Prominent among those who attended the function included Joint Secretary in the Union government Mr Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal, IAS, General Manager of Punjab & Sind Bank Mr Daljit Singh Grover, Zonal Manager Mr Amolak Singh, Zonal Manager Faridkot Mr Rajeev Bansal, Mr Akhilesh Kumar and Mr Satish Kumar from GEM programme, Mr Ritesh Kumar from SIDBI, CGST Commissioner Mr Ashutosh Barnwal, Mr Kundan Lal from MSME, AGM Mr Ajit Singh Chawla, District President BJP Mr Jatinder Mittal, besides several others.
