Pre Congress of World Anthropology Congress-2023 

Chandigarh, August 8, 2023: Department of Anthropology, Panjab University organized a two day Pre Congress of World Anthropology Congress-2023 on the theme Environment and Health: An Anthropological Perspective from 7th to 8th August. 

The pre congress had twelve technical sessions related to sub themes of the pre-congress. Delegates from diverse backgrounds from different parts of India registered in this pre congress. Distinguished national and international speakers from different sub domains of anthropology delivered lectures before each technical session. The theme of the pre congress clearly scripts the challenges of present scenario. Delegates had intense and exhaustive deliberations on anthropogenic factors impacting environment and contributing to climate change. 

Dr Maninder Kaur, Chairperson and Prof A K Sinha were the conveners of the Pre Congress.
