Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji celebrated at GGNIMT

Ludhiana, January 30, 2016: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) and Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies (GGNIVS) jointly celebrated the Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji here today.
The event began with the melodious kirtan. This was followed by mellifluous Shabad Gyan by the students of GGNIMT (Prabhjot Singh, Harmeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Girish and Love) .
Prof. Sarabjit Singh, Dept of Journalism & Mass Communication, PAU deliberated on the theme during the event. He motivated the audience to be hopeful and optimistic in life. He inspired them to strive for solutions to the daily life problems instead of getting depressed. He enlightened the gathering with the  teachings and  principles of Sri Guru Gobind singh Ji. He further exhorted that these teachings must not just be read and recited , rather they should be practiced in totality to gain eternal bliss  and happiness.
The inspirational lecture was followed by Shabad Gayan by the students of GGNIVS. The euphonious poem on ‘ Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji’ by Gagandeep Kaur & Varinder Kaur of B.Com 4th sem won many hearts. A series of short videos highlighting the eminence and glory of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji thoroughly inspired the audience.
Prof. Prithipal Singh Kapur, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council then talked about the extraordinary life of Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji, the evolution of Sikhi and the coherence of Gurbani from Sri. Guru Nanak Dev ji to Sri Guru Gobind Singj ji.
A Quiz on Sikh History and a Turban tying Competition was organized in the institute two days prior to the Prakash Purab. The students participated in the event in large numbers. They not only performed brilliantly well but also made the institute proud by showcasing the fact that despite modernization, the young students were deeply rooted to their traditions and values. The winners of the events were bestowed with prizes during the Prakash Purab celebrations. The results were as follows:

Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT inspired the students to enthusiastically participate in such traditional activities. He further encouraged the youngsters to keep themselves rooted to their religion.
Principal Dr. P. S Khattra congratulated the staff and students for their grand organizational abilities.
