"Appreciation for the government's 'Satkar Act' is one thing, but our ideological opposition to patronizing international drug networks will continue"

Tarn Taran, April 23, 2026: The ideological stand taken by Shiromani Akali Dal Vice President and former MLA Ravinder Singh Brahmpura to safeguard Panthic principles against tainted elements and drug peddlers is receiving massive support from the public and grassroots workers. Buoyed by encouraging messages and cooperation from conscientious citizens, an important meeting of village elders and Akali workers from Kalla village was held today at the residence of a senior Taksali Akali family.
Expressing deep concern during the meeting, the gathered Taksali workers and locals stated that the growing 'political commercialization' in Panthic politics is highly detrimental to Punjab's future. Without taking any names, the workers made it clear that when non-social elements and those patronizing drugs are prioritized over principles in politics, the pain of sincere and Taksali-minded people is bound to overflow. The congregation of Khadoor Sahib has sent a clear message that tainted characters will never be accepted on this holy land. This grassroots uprising indicates the severe consequences of ignoring Taksali sentiments and ground realities.
Brahmpura stated that their fight is to save the future generation of Punjab. While appreciating the 'Jagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Satkar (Amendment) Act' brought by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's government, he emphasized that the true purpose of this law can only be fulfilled if it is strictly enforced at the grassroots level. This sacred task can never be accomplished by individuals with a background tied to non-social elements. Therefore, people with clean characters from the region have stepped forward to take the responsibility of enforcing this Act and standing guard against drugs.
Given the immense enthusiasm of the common people and workers supporting this noble cause, a 'Worker's Meeting' has been scheduled for April 25 at Bhai Jodh Hall, Khadoor Sahib at 12:30 PM. This meeting aims to intensify the campaign against drugs and their peddlers, and will be attended by all conscientious individuals concerned about the sanctity of Sri Khadoor Sahib and the future generation of Punjab.
Among others present at today's meeting were Gurjant Singh (son of the late Jathedar Harbhej Singh), Former Sarpanch Angrej Singh, current Sarpanch Master Baldev Singh, Major Singh, Gurdev Singh, and other prominent figures.
