AEGON Religare Life Insurance, on Tuesday organising a ‘Safe Drive Awareness’ campaign in association with the traffic police of Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, October 20, 2015: Statistics have shown that disobedience of traffic rules have directly resulted into fatalities. Ludhiana city had witnessed high level of road accidents of around 342 in the period of January 2015 to September 2015 out of which 187 was the recorded death rate.
With an aim to emphasize the importance to adopt essential measures while driving, AEGON Religare Life Insurance, pioneers and innovators in the online insurance, today organized a ‘Safe Drive Awareness’ campaign in association with the traffic police of Ludhiana.
This initiative of AEGON Religare Life Insurance aims at reintroducing and informing the people to adhere to the much required road safety norms. The campaign aims to urge the citizens to follow traffic safety rules with the help of 30 to 40 volunteers placed at the major and busiest hubs of Ludhiana under direct supervision and guidance of the Ludhiana traffic police covering the streets of Bharat Nagar Chowk, Bhai Wala Chowk, Kipps Market, Pakhowal Road railway crossing, Model Town railway crossing and Dugri Chowk.
The volunteers will appeal the car and auto drivers to pledge to drive safely by following simple driving etiquettes and traffic rules more sincerely. They also plan to distribute informative handouts on essential rules by emphasizing the dangers of traffic safety violations and the preventive measures to avoid the same. In order to pass on the message to the other fellow drivers, the volunteers would seek and request the car owners to put a bumper sticker with a traffic safety message ‘I pledge to drive safe’ displayed behind their respective vehicles. This initiative by AEGON Religare Life Insurance will not only help in creating awareness on this issue but also facilitate Ludhiana to flourish leaps and bound by commuting safely.
