Pidilite Announces Fevicol Science Project Challenge 2015

Chandigarh, September 10, 2015: Pidilite Industries Ltd, one of the leading companies in consumer and specialty chemicals, under the aegis of its Arts, Stationery and Fabrics division, announced the launch of Fevicol Science Project Challenge 2015 with an overarching theme of ‘Young Minds Creating Better Tomorrow’. The challenge, for the first time, will also now be open for individual participants along with team participation. India’s favourite kid’s icon Rob will be the brand ambassador for the challenge. He will mentor the finalists and will also conduct a workshop for top 100 winners in individual category.
 
Fevicol Science Project Challenge is a quest to nurture the next generation of scientists and thinkers. This annual, nationwide was launched to identify the young talents across various schools in the country. This competition encourages young talents to develop and pursue their interest in numerous topics of science. Slated as one of the biggest events for students across the country, the last edition witnessed participation of more than 7 lakh students from across 1950 schools. This year over 11 lakh kids across the country are expected to participate in team and individual categories.

Participants can choose their area of interest from a number of prescribed topics that are either related to their everyday life or involve designing futuristic concepts. The topics range from disaster management to water resource management and also include pollution control, traffic management, renewable sources of energy, and global warming. For a valid entry, each idea would have to be supported with 3-D models to provide their interpretations of the way they perceive the subject/topic and also to promote the ‘Learning by doing’ attitude.
 
The competition would be organised for students in two levels – the junior level will feature students between 5th to 7th standards while the senior level will have students from 8th to 10th. Students from any school across India can register for individual participation while schools themselves can register their entries for group participations.

Participants of the direct category, should log on to the website, download the project and the props, create an innovative science project from it and submit.
 
As a special prize, for 100 winners across India from the direct participation category, Rob will conduct a special workshop on arts and crafts. There are several other prizes like branded tabs and many more.
 
For school registering in this contest, the shortlisted projects will be evaluated by an expert panel and 5 projects from each level will be entering into the final leg of the competition. The chosen teams will compete in the Grand Finale by creating projects within a 3-day timeframe and based on topics given to them on arrival. An eminent jury panel will assess each of these projects to adjudge the winner.
 
Apart from being felicitated with trophies, the winning team students, along with one parent of each kid, will receive a grand trip to the Science Museum in London.
