Rohtak, April 15, 2026: At RSACPCON-2026—the 34th Annual National and 5th International Conference of the Research Society of Anaesthesiology, held in Indore—the Department of Anesthesia at PGIMS Rohtak achieved outstanding academic performance, winning five national-level awards. More than 2,000 anesthesia specialists from across the country and abroad participated in this event, presenting evidence-based research papers.

Dr. H.K. Agarwal, Vice-Chancellor of Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, congratulated all the physicians, stating that the doctors of the Department of Anesthesia have brought glory to the institution by winning five national awards under the guidance of the Head of the Department, Dr. S.K. Singhal. He remarked that this achievement stands as a testament to the university's academic excellence and its unwavering commitment to research. The faculty members of our Department of Anesthesia have showcased high-caliber clinical research and evidence-based practices on both national and international platforms. Safe anesthesia and effective perioperative care remain the primary objectives of our institution.

Director Dr. S.K. Singhal said that anesthesia serves as a fundamental pillar of perioperative medicine. Within the operating theater, a patient's hemodynamic stability and safety depend critically on the expertise of the anesthesiologist. The research currently being conducted by the department in areas such as airway management, regional anesthesia, and simulation training is poised to play a decisive role in reducing morbidity and mortality rates among critically ill patients.

Registrar Dr. Roop Singh noted that the institution continuously encourages translational research and academic publications. He emphasized that clinical protocols developed through original research serve to minimize perioperative complications and reinforce patient safety standards. He said that, through the Simulation Facilitator Program, the department will now be able to train postgraduate students in Crisis Resource Management within high-fidelity simulated scenarios.

Dr. Preeti Gehlot noted that the three-day conference featured workshops, live demonstrations, and expert panel discussions focused on advanced airway techniques, ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, perioperative pain management, and patient safety. Prof. Preeti Gehlot secured the first prize in the National Original Research Poster Presentation category. In the Airway Management category, a research paper presented by Associate Professor Dr. Vasudha Govil was honored with the first prize for the 'Best Paper.' Dr. Nidhi was awarded the prestigious RSA-JOACP Editorial Fellowship, a testament to her excellence in academic writing and the peer-review process. Furthermore, under the aegis of simulation-based medical education, Dr. Preeti and Dr. Kanika Siwach successfully completed the Simulation Facilitator Program, which will add a new dimension to skills-based training within the department.

Dr. Preeti mentioned that, while representing Haryana in the 'My State – My Pride' academic-cultural competition, Associate Professor Dr. Manisha Manohar secured the second position, while Prof. Deepika Seelwal took the third place.
