Jalandhar, February 17, 2026:  Lyallpur Khalsa College, through its PG Department of Computer Science & IT, kicked off ‘IT-SPARK’, an annual Intra-Departmental IT competition, in a remarkable effort to foster creativity, innovation, and healthy competition among students. The two-day event promises to ignite the spark of knowledge and creativity among participants.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the College Principal, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, who was also the Chief Guest of the event. As a symbolic gesture of goodwill and new beginnings, Dr. Rashpal Singh, along with Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Head of the Department, and other senior faculty members, performed the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. In his inaugural address, Dr. Rashpal Singh officially declared the event open, wishing the participants success and emphasizing the importance of such platforms in shaping the overall personality of students. He applauded the department for organizing the grand competition.
Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand welcomed the Chief Guest, faculty members, and students, highlighting the significance of IT-SPARK in the holistic development of students and in nurturing a competitive spirit among them. During the event, students are participating in 17 different competitions, including Think in Slides, Brain Wars, Toons Mania, Photo2Phrase, Tech Trivia, Mind Matrix, Sketch O Vision, Brain Bits, Shutter Spark, Key Rush, Remake IT, Digi Drama, Nano Shot, Tech Hunt, Tech Startup Pitch, Bug Plug, and Sync & Spin.
A total of 206 teams registered for the various competitions, with an overall enrolment of 381 participants, making IT-SPARK a grand success. The event is being coordinated by Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia. The occasion was witnessed by Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Prof. Navneet Kaur, and other staff members of the department. The stage proceedings were managed by Dr. Daljit Kaur.
