P.G. Department of Computer Science & IT at Lyallpur Khalsa College Organises “Plasma 2026” – An Inter-College IT Fest
The P.G. Department of Computer Science & IT at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar successfully organized Plasma 2026, its annual inter-college IT Fest, with great enthusiasm and participation. The event brought together talented students from various institutions, creating a vibrant platform for innovation, creativity, and technological excellence.
Jalandhar, March 11, 2026: The P.G. Department of Computer Science & IT at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar successfully organized Plasma 2026, its annual inter-college IT Fest, with great enthusiasm and participation. The event brought together talented students from various institutions, creating a vibrant platform for innovation, creativity, and technological excellence. The fest featured 11 engaging and intellectually stimulating competitions, including AI Matrix, Web Craft, Brain Wars, Tech Trivia, Think in Slides, Brain Bits, Toons Mania, Shutter Spark, Digi Drama, Sketch-O-Vision, and Beat Blast.
Around 250 students from different colleges participated in the competitions, making the fest a lively celebration of talent, teamwork, and technical brilliance. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Kuljit Kaur Chaha, Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. She formally opened the fest by lighting the ceremonial lamp. As a mark of respect, the Chief Guest was honoured with a traditional Phulkari shawl and presented with a memento. In her address, she highlighted the growing importance of technological education and encouraged students to continuously upgrade their skills to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital era.
The occasion was also graced by Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, along with heads of various departments and faculty members. Welcoming the Chief Guest, the Principal appreciated the department for organizing such a dynamic event and emphasized that platforms like Plasma play a crucial role in nurturing creativity, confidence, and professional competence among students.
Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Head of the P.G. Department of Computer Science & IT, highlighted the significance of such academic and technical festivals in developing both technical expertise and essential soft skills among students. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners were felicitated for their outstanding performances. The Overall Trophy of Plasma 2026 was won by Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, while Kanya Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar secured the First Runner-Up position and Trinity College Jalandhar emerged as the Second Runner-Up.
The fest was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia with the support of faculty members including Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur, and Prof. Onkar, along with the dedicated assistance of the teaching and technical staff. Stage management was handled by Dr. Daljit Kaur, ensuring the smooth conduct of the programme. Plasma 2026 once again proved to be a vibrant celebration of knowledge, innovation, and youthful energy, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to promoting technological excellence and holistic student development.
