Jalandhar, February 10, 2026: The P.G. Department of Commerce & Management of PCM SD College For Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Committee for Competitive Examination, organized an insightful Discussion on the Union Budget 2026-27 for students of B. Com and M.Com.

It served as an opportunity for students to get deep insights into the country's financial planning, policy decisions, and economic strategies.

Diksha Bakshi, Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of Commerce and Management gave deep insights on the budget.

The key areas covered included manufacturing and strategic sectors, with initiatives like Biopharma SHAKTI and India Semiconductor Mission 2.0; infrastructure development with increased capital expenditure up to 9%; education and skill development including university townships and girls' hostels; fiscal management with deficit reduction; tax reforms; agriculture modernization through AI tools like Bharat-VISTAAR; tourism and regional development; energy sustainability with green initiatives; and MSME support through growth funds.

The discussion served as an excellent platform for students to stay updated on the latest economic developments while developing their financial acumen and analytical skills. Students gained valuable insights into budget provisions, fiscal policy implications, government initiatives, and macroeconomic indicators. The session was attended by 56 enthusiastic students from B.Com and M.Com programs, along with all faculty members of the P.G. Department of Commerce & Management.
