Jalandharay 27, 2026: The PG Department of Commerce and Management in association with the Committee for Competitive Exams organized an Awareness Session on career awareness on the topic "Assured Career Pathways in Finance with Leading MNC's And Global Firms" via Zoom platform for the students of PG Department of Commerce & Management.
The resource person Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna (Former Vice Chancelor, Chandigarh University, Former Director, AICTE and Founder Member of SWAYAM). He initiated the session by discussing the dearth of career options for commerce graduates available in the market.
He said that as competition is taking over the operations, jobs and placement is becoming a challenge. So, students must acquire the skills required to serve the corporate sector. He explained, that ‘Global Capability Centers (GCC) School: Get Hired First, Then Trained’ is India’s first School built specifically for Commerce graduates and early-career professionals aiming for senior finance roles in global companies, which can be a game changer for the students. He highlighted once hired; they undergo structured, role-specific training programs designed in collaboration with industry experts to build the exact technical and soft skills needed for the job.
Valid Questions were raised by the students and they were satisfactorily answered by the resource person. Total 61 students of B. Com Sem VI, M.Com Sem II and M.Com Sem IV and faculty members of PG Department of Commerce and Management attended the program.
