Ludhiana, April 1, 2015: PCTE Group of Institutes wins Overall Trophy at IIT-Roorkee, Saharanpur Campus Cultural Fest. About fifty students from different Streams of PCTE Group of Institutes participated in different events of Raphsody - 2015. In the Festival 20 teams from different parts of the country including IIT Roorkee main campus participated. Akanksha a student of ATHM was titled Ms. Raphsody. And Harsharan Singh, student BBA won title of Mr. Raphsody.

In Cultural Events like Bhangra competition PCTE students won First Prize whereas in Fashion Show students won Second Prize. Joelma, student BCA was declared as Best Female Model in the fest. In Instrumental Solo, Simranjeet Singh student of BBA final year won the first prize whereas in Solo Singing Competition Pavneet Singh BBA won first prize. In Western Music, Akhil student of BBA won First prize and in Face Painting, Urvashi student of B.Com won First Prize. In Tug of War first & second prize was won by PCTE students in boy’s category whereas second prize was won by PCTE students in girls category.

The most amazing was Stage play in which PCTE students won first Prize and in Nukkad Natak students won third prize. The Best Actress award was won by Savleen, B.Com and the Best Actor award was won by Manjinder, B.Com. . Swapan Chanana, Unit Head, PCTE said “We are pleased by the performance of students in Theatrical activities. He further added that the audience and judges appreciated the performance on stage and got involved during the act. It was further followed by a long session of clap, cash prize worth Rs. 20,000 plus a workshop of 7 days to be conducted by Adakar Theatre Club for the winning students”. “Although I was fortunate enough to witness and experience all this, the true credit goes to our faculty members who are a source of inspiration for us” said Savleen, student B.Com 3rd year.

Dr. K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Group Of Institutes Congratulated the winners and said that  such type of events not only  help the students in developing Confidence to perform  and show case their Talent, but also  help in  developing  team Spirit and Leadership Qualities. These Qualities in turn play very important Role in their Professional Career and help them to compete with best in the Market.
