Jalandhar, May 6, 2026: Under the scheme of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ launched by the Central Government to promote engagement among people of different states, Punjab is paired with Andhra Pradesh. Under this initiative, PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar signed an MoU with Government Model Degree College, Pathapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
Government Model Degree College recently organized an engaging event titled “Cultural Harmony: An Experience on Cultural Attire and Iconic Food”, inviting students and faculty from PCM S.D. College for Women to participate in the celebration of India’s rich diversity. The collaboration reflects ongoing cultural exchange initiatives between institutions of different states.
The event commenced with insightful presentations by the host institution, wherein students of Government Model Degree College showcased the traditional attire and iconic cuisines of Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the uniqueness and cultural significance of their region.
Following this, Dr. Sandeep Kaur expressed her gratitude to the host college for extending the invitation and providing a platform for meaningful cultural exchange. Students of PCM S.D. College for Women then took to the stage to present the vibrant culture of Punjab, focusing on its traditional attire and famous food items. Their presentation beautifully depicted the richness, colours, and flavours of Punjabi heritage, fostering mutual appreciation among participants.
The event served as a valuable opportunity for students from both institutions to learn, interact, and celebrate cultural diversity, thereby strengthening the spirit of unity and national integration.
