PCM S.D. College for Women holds General Health Check up Camp

The Rotaract Club and Women Empowerment Cell of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with Rotary Club, Jalandhar West, organized a Mammography Camp, Eye Check-up Camp, and a general health check up camp at the college campus.

Jalandhar: The Rotaract Club and Women Empowerment Cell of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with Rotary Club, Jalandhar West, organized a Mammography Camp, Eye Check-up Camp, and a general health check up camp at the college campus. 

The camp aimed at fostering health awareness and promoting preventive healthcare among women and staff members.

The event was graced by Dr. Pooja Kapoor, President, Dr. Navneet Arora, Secretary, Rotary Club, Jalandhar; Dr. S.P.S. Grover and Dr. Harneet Grover from New Ruby Hospital, Jalandhar; and Dr. Amandeep Singh Arora from Arora Eye Hospital, Jalandhar. Other eminent doctors who marked their presence included Dr. M.S. Bhutani and Dr. Dharamvir from Kapoor Hospital. Rotarian Kuldeep Singh, Harbinder Singh (Secretary Elect, Rotary Club), and Chetan Kapoor also graced the occasion with their presence.

The programme commenced with a green welcome extended to all dignitaries. The experts conducted free health consultations and diagnostic screenings, encouraging participants to prioritize their well-being through timely medical check-ups.

Approximately three hundred students, teaching and non-teaching staff members benefitted from the camp. The initiative received an overwhelming response as it not only offered free diagnostic services but also sensitized participants about lifestyle disorders, early detection of ailments, and the significance of regular health assessments. The club looks forward to organizing cataract surgeries and distributing free spectacles to the people.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar lauded the collaborative initiative for its humanitarian outlook and its focus on women’s health. They also appreciated the efforts of Kawaljit Kaur, Seema Tiwari, and Aabroo Sharma, Coordinators of the event, for successfully organizing this noble venture that resonated with the institution’s ethos of service and empowerment.
