PAU student bags second prize for research on crop diversification

Sharanjit Kaur Brar, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Soil Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has bagged the second best award in poster presentation for her bonafide research work during M.Sc. programme on “Availability of micronutrients due crop diversification in Punjab.”

Ludhiana, June 15, 2023: Sharanjit Kaur Brar, a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Soil Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has bagged the second best award in poster presentation for her bonafide research work during M.Sc. programme on “Availability of micronutrients due crop diversification in Punjab.” She was presented this prestigious award by Chander Kumar, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Government of Himachal Pradesh and Prof HK Choudhary, Vice-Chancellor, during an award ceremony, held at the National Conference on “Natural and Organic Farming for Ecological, Economical and Nutritional Security” at CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur from June 7-9, 2023. She presented a poster on the theme “Promotion of soil sustainability and productivity through nutrient enrichment under crop diversification in North-Western India. Sharanjit Kaur Brar had pursued her M.Sc. on micronutrients under the able guidance of Dr Salwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Principal Soil Chemist-cum-former Incharge of Micronutrients Project, Department of Soil Science. Presently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr Amardeep Singh Toor, Principal Soil Chemist, Department of Soil Science, PAU.

Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr Pardeep Kumar Chhuneja, Dean, Postgraduate Studies; Dr Ravinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dean, College of Agriculture and Dr Dhanwinder Singh, Head, Department of Soil Science congratulated the student for this outstanding achievement and wished her all success in her future endeavours.
