PAU Retirees Welfare Association holds meeting of General Body in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, September 10, 2016: Today, PAU Retirees Welfare Association hold a meeting of the General Body in the Seminar Hall of PAU Students' Home under the presidentship of Jila Ram Bansal. About 180 retirees attended the meeting and deliberations. The hall was over crowded.
Mr.Satish Sood General Secretary conducted the state nicely and created a balance between the speakers and the audience. He highlighted the day to day activities of the Association during the last month. Mr. D.P. Maur who remained President of the PAU Employees Union for a very very long time and now the Chairman of the Association shared his long time experience with the pensioners. He also stressed upon the long agitation of the Association for the fulfillment of the demands of the pensioners. Mostly he touched the demands of the Punjab pensioners pending with the Government of the Punjab. He hoped that many significant demands are expected to be met soon.
Ex President of the PAU Pensioners Association and now a Senior Advisor of this Association Mr. S.S. Sharma along with Pattern Sh. H.B.S. Bhatia highlighted the day & night tireless efforts of the Association. They stressed that now everybody in the PAU knows that this Association is working for their cause. In the end, they praised the leadership.
Concluding the meeting Mr. Jila Ram Bansal shared with the pensioners that on 7-9-2016 at 3 pm a meeting was called by the PAU Authorities in the personal office of Registrar. In the meeting the main financial demands were : Payment of pension on the first of every month, Payment of leave travelling allowance for January 2015, July 2015 and January 2016, Payment of pending arrears of DA. Apart from this other demands were : Pension Bhawan in the PAU Campus on the patron of Govt. of Punjab, Availability of free medicines for chronic patients in the PAU Hospital, Repair of old defective testing machines in the PAU Hospital and Provision of latest needed testing equipments, Opening of an Ayurvedic Dispensary in the PAU, Availability of part time Specialist Doctors, Extension in the accommodation of PAU State Bank of India/or Opening of a new bank branch, Depositing of the cheques of the pensioners in the bank for their medical bills directly by the department concerned and Issuing security gate pass to the retirees for the vehicles owned by their wards which are used by the pensioners etc. were discussed in detail. The PAU authorities were very much positive and sympathetic towards their issues for which all the retirees welcome and hope that all the issues will be resolved and implemented soon.
In the end Mr. Bansal hoped that in future also all the issues can be resolved in such a atmosphere. He further hoped that the pending payments of LTAs and ADAs are expected soon. He also hoped soon the implementation of other discussed demands. Today's General Body Meeting was attended by Ex President Ashok Mahindroo, SS Narula and Executive members: Ajit Singh Cheema, Joginder Ram, Labh Singh, Narinderpal Singh, Jagga Singh, Birbal, Iqbal Singh, RS Rangila, Muni Lal, Anup Singh, Roop Lal Sharma, Amarjit Singh, Bhawant Singh, Nitya Nand, Kamlesh Kumar, Paramjit Narula and Lady pensioners : Sapt Kala, Bira Bai, Sita Devi, Sushil Malhotra and Madam Matharoo.
