PAU Imparts Training In Cultivation Of Tropical Mushrooms

Ludhiana, May 12, 2016: A two-day training programme on the “Cultivation and Processing of Tropical Mushrooms” concluded at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). The programme was jointly conducted by the Directorate of Extension Education and the Department of Microbiology, PAU. Farmers and farm women from various parts of Punjab participated in the training programme.
Giving details, Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, PAU, said the microbiologists delved on the importance, cultivation and marketing of tropical mushrooms; cultivation of paddy straw and milky mushrooms; quality seed production of mushrooms and dietary significance of mushrooms.
Earlier, Dr T.S. Riar, Course Coordinator, welcomed the trainees and presented an overview of the course.
Later, Dr Rupinder Kaur, another Course Coordinator, proposed the vote of thanks. The training programme was technically coordinated by Dr Shammi Kapoor, Senior Microbiologist, PAU.
