Panjab University to Host Internal Smart India Hackathon on September 12
Panjab University will conduct the Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH-2025) selection round on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the UICET Auditorium. The internal round will identify top PU teams to be nominated on the national SIH portal, an initiative of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell in collaboration with AICTE and the Government of India.

Chandigarh, September 8, 2025: Panjab University will conduct the Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH-2025) selection round on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the UICET Auditorium. The internal round will identify top PU teams to be nominated on the national SIH portal, an initiative of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell in collaboration with AICTE and the Government of India.
Applications are open until September 10, 2025, 11:59 PM. Undergraduate and postgraduate students across PU departments can participate in Software or Hardware tracks addressing SIH 2025 problem statements or Student Innovation projects. Themes include Smart Education, Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, Clean and Green Technology, Transportation and Logistics, Disaster Management, Smart Automation, Renewable Energy, Heritage and Culture, Blockchain and Cybersecurity, and Robotics and Drones.
“Panjab University’s internal hackathon allows students to tackle national challenges, build startups, and contribute to Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” said Dr. Sanjeev Gautam, SPOC–SIH (PU) and PI/MSME Incubator In-charge. Interdisciplinary teams with robust prototypes and societal impact will be prioritized.
