Panjab University to host CHASSCONG 2023 on Nov 23-24

Chandigarh, November 19, 2023: Bringing together a platform for academic deliberations and industry expertise, Panjab University is geared up to host the Chandigarh Social Science Congress 2023 on 23rd and 24th November 2023. 

The two-day national conference will see a host of luminary speakers from diverse disciplines and participations from faculty, research scholars and students across social sciences. The theme for this years’ congress is, ‘Sustainable Development : Dimensions & Discourse’. 

Sharing the lineup of speakers and activities for the event, Prof. Anju Suri, Dean Faculty of Arts and Coordinator, CHASSCONG 2023 said that, “The event will have eminent speakers from across industry and academia, besides having academic paper presentation sessions on various sub- themes, which will be hosted by the various Departments of Panjab University. CHASSCONG is an annual tradition of Panjab University and a platform for faculty and researchers from social sciences to gain exposure to research and latest developments in the field.” 

The inaugural session of the event will be graced by Prof. V.K. Malhotra, Chairman, Food Commission of Madhya Pradesh as Chief Guest. Dr. Srikant K Panigrahi, Director General, Indian Institute of Sustainable Development, New Delhi and Prof. Nalini Ranganathan, Pondicherry University will be the Guests of Honour for the occasion. 

The inaugural session will be hosted on 23rd November 2023 at P.L.Anand Auditorium, Dept of Evening Studies at 10.30 am. Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University would deliver the inaugural address and Prof. Rumina Sethi, DUI, Panjab University and Director, CHASSCONG 2023 would also address the participants. The two day event will bring together researchers from across the region and country with dedicated paper presentation sessions in each Department and a Valedictory Session on 24th November 2023.
