Panjab University Organises Session on Managing Exam Stress for Zoology Students
Panjab University's (PU), Office of the Dean Student Welfare in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, organised a session titled “Mastering Exam Stress: Strategies for Academic Balance” for undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department.
Chandigarh, April 30 2026: Panjab University's (PU), Office of the Dean Student Welfare in collaboration with the Department of Zoology, organised a session titled “Mastering Exam Stress: Strategies for Academic Balance” for undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department.
The session was conducted by Counsellor Pulkita Wadhwa and chaired by Chairperson, Department of Zoology Prof Dr. Ravinder Kumar, in the presence of Warden GH-4 Dr. Indu Sharma. The session aimed to equip students with practical strategies to effectively manage examination-related stress while maintaining academic balance.
Wadhwa emphasised structured time management, guiding students to create realistic study schedules, divide the syllabus into manageable segments, and set achievable goals to ensure consistency in preparation. Highlighting the link between mental well-being and academic performance, she explained how stress-related hormones impact mood, concentration, and productivity.
The session also focused on the importance of adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, and regular physical activity in maintaining hormonal balance and reducing stress levels. To provide hands-on experience, interactive relaxation exercises, including deep breathing and grounding techniques, were conducted. A brief guided meditation session enabled students to regulate their breathing and centre their thoughts.
Students actively participated, sharing concerns and engaging in discussions, making the session interactive and impactful. The programme was well received for its practical approach and scientific perspective on stress management.
The initiative reflects PU's focus on supporting student well-being alongside academic excellence.
