Panjab University International Students Celebrate Lohri with Cultural Fervour
International students of Panjab University celebrated Lohri with enthusiasm at the International Hostel. The event was organised by the International Hostel in collaboration with the Office of the Dean, International Students.
Chandigarh, January 14, 2026: International students of Panjab University celebrated Lohri with enthusiasm at the International Hostel. The event was organised by the International Hostel in collaboration with the Office of the Dean, International Students.
Dr. Ravinder Kaur, Warden, International Hostel, welcomed the guests, while Prof. Kewal Krishan, Dean, International Students, highlighted the cultural significance of Lohri.
The programme began with the lighting of the Lohri bonfire, followed by traditional songs and dances. Faculty members, international guests, students and staff actively participated.
The celebration was graced by Prof. Kashmir Singh, Associate Dean Student Welfare; Prof. Jatinder Grover, Chairperson, Department of Education; and Prof. Simrit Kahlon, Chief Vigilance Officer, Panjab University. Prof. Rekha B. Kaul, Professor of Science Education, Curtin University, along with Joshi and nine students from the Department of School Education, Curtin University, also attended the programme.
