Chandigarh, March 11, 2026: A Cleanliness Drive was organised under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Hall (Boys Hostel No. 8), Panjab University, with the aim of promoting cleanliness, environmental awareness, and community responsibility among hostel residents.
The initiative was organised by Dr. Mahesh Thakur, Warden of Boys Hostel No. 8, and Dr. Anuj Kumar, Coordinator of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Panjab University. Numerous students and staff members from Boys Hostel No. 8, representing various departments, actively took part in this meaningful initiative, showing great enthusiasm and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
The drive focused on cleaning the hostel premises and surrounding areas, which are frequently used by residents. Volunteers worked hard to collect waste, sort it into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories, and ensure its proper disposal.
