Chandigarh, March 17, 2026: Two-day workshop on “Research Methodology” concluded at the Department of Public Administration, Panjab University (PU).
The workshop, organised by the Department of Public Administration, featured expert sessions by resource persons from within the University. The workshop saw participation of 40 students and research scholars and was conducted in an interactive, practice-oriented manner, enabling participants to develop practical research skills.
Chairperson, Prof. Bhawna Gupta stated that the workshop aimed to strengthen research skills of students and scholars through training in literature review, research ethics, data collection and statistical analysis.
Deputy Librarian, PU, Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, spoke on the use of e-resources for effective literature review and highlighted the importance of ethical practices, particularly avoiding plagiarism. Prof. Anil Monga from the Centre for Police Administration delivered a session on tools of data collection, focusing on the effective use of questionnaires in research.
On the second day, Assistant Professor, University Business School, Dr. Pooja Soni,  conducted hands-on sessions on statistical analysis using Microsoft Excel and introduced participants to the application of ‘R’ software in research.
