Panjab University Enhances Counselling Support to Help Students Manage Exam Stress
In view of the examination season, Panjab University has stepped up measures to support students in managing academic stress and maintaining emotional wellbeing.
Chandigarh, December 9, 2025: In view of the examination season, Panjab University has stepped up measures to support students in managing academic stress and maintaining emotional wellbeing.
These services aim to help students cope with exam-related pressure, improve focus, and enhance overall mental health through timely guidance and professional support.
A trained and appointed counsellor, Pulkita, is available throughout the week for confidential counselling sessions at the DSW Office, along with additional accessibility through hostel visits.
Counselling Timings (DSW Office, Ground Floor):
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Tuesday & Friday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Hostel Counselling (Rotational Exams):
Daily: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Support is open and accessible for every student.
Students may also reach Tele-MANAS, the Government of India’s free 24/7 mental health helpline, by calling 14416 for round-the-clock emotional support.
The Dean Student Welfare (DSW), Prof. Amit Chauhan informed that Counselling Services are already available on campus for all students. Students are encouraged to make use of these services as they prepare for examinations.
