Rohtak, March 16, 2026: Literature encompasses infinite possibilities. It renders human beings humane and cultivates the resilience to withstand the vicissitudes of life. Furthermore, literature contributes to the creation of a better and more humane society.
These sentiments were expressed by Sunit Mukherjee, a Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at MDU, while addressing the participants at a multidisciplinary national seminar held at BLJS College, Tosham under the joint aegis of the Department of Higher Education, Haryana.
Focusing on the theme—"When Everything Else Ends, Literature Begins", Sunit Mukherjee highlighted the pivotal role of literature in both society and life. Placing special emphasis on the relevance of literature in the digital media era, he remarked that literature serves as the voice of the voiceless.
Analyzing the multifaceted nature of literature, Sunit Mukherjee urged the audience to engage with and connect to the literary world. The seminar was presided over by Principal Dr. Shyam Vashishth, while Dr. Somendra Sharma, HOD English was the seminar convener.
