'OTT will continue giving competition to films': Scam 1992 writer Vaibhav Vishal at Sahitya Aaj Tak

Writers Vaibhav Vishal and Divya Prakash Dubey recently graced the Sahitya Aaj Tak event in Delhi with author Umashankar Singh. While Divya has written the dialogues for Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, Vaibhav has been a writer of web shows like Inside Edge, Scam 1992 and Rana Naidu. At the event, Vaibhav Vishal spoke about the emergence of OTT as a medium. He opined that the platform would continue giving competition to films.

Talking about the rising popularity of OTT platforms, the Scam 1992 writer said, "The speciality of OTT is that no matter where you come from, it has something to offer to you. We will give you shows like Scam 1992, Maharani, Inside Edge or Rana Naidu. The medium itself has been democratized. OTT will continue giving competition to films." 
He further mentioned, "People used to plan and watch films on the big screen with family. It used to be like an occasion itself. Then came TV and people still used to watch it together at that time. Then cell phones arrived and OTT became a personal medium. The consumption pattern of entertainment has changed."
