ON OCCASION OF RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS, “RUN FOR UNITY” ORGANISED IN LUDHIANA
HUNDREDS OF CITY RESIDENTS PARTICIPATE EVENT FLAGGED OFF BY ADCP SURINDER LAMBA Ludhiana, October 31, 2018: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day), ’Run For Unity’ event was organised in the city today. This event was flagged off by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Surinder Lamba today. While addressing an impressive gathering at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, Mr Surinder Lamba said that all of us should dedicate ourselves for the unity, integrity and security of our nation and should also make efforts to spread this message amongst our fellow countrymen. He also spoke about the life and works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Run for Unity race started by Guru Nanak Stadium and passed through Club Road, Fountain Chowk, Mall Road, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Durga Mata Mandir before ending at the Guru Nanak Stadium. This race was attended by more than 500 athletes, children and city residents. Assistant Commissioner (General) Mr Amrinder Singh Malhi, ADCP Mr Ratan Singh Brar, District Sports Officer Mr Ravinder Singh, District Public Relations Officer Mr Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, Mr Harbans Singh from Saanjh Kendra, besides several others also participated in this event.
