NSS department of Panjab University celebrated khadi Mahotsav and organized khadi exhibition under the leadership of Dr. Parveen Goyal,Programme Coordinator,NSS,PU. The mahotsav is an initiative of Govt of India that was initiated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji. The idea behind this mahotsav is to promote khadi throughout the nation.

Chandigarh, October 25, 2023: NSS department of Panjab University celebrated khadi Mahotsav and organized khadi exhibition under the leadership of Dr. Parveen Goyal,Programme Coordinator,NSS,PU. The mahotsav is an initiative of Govt of India that was initiated on the occasion of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi ji. The idea behind this mahotsav is to promote khadi throughout the nation.
The event saw the presence of distinguished dignitaries including Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, DCDC as Chief Guest of the event, Narinder Singh from Ministry of MSME, and Prof. Simrit Kahlon, DSW(W), faculty, staff and students of PU.
Prof. Sanjay Kaushik appealed to everyone for embracing khadi products.
Narinder emphasized the consistent efforts of Present Government in promoting khadi and that has resulted income enhancement of turnover from khadi industry from 800 cr in 2014 to 34000 cr today.
Dr. Parveen Goyal shared that exhibition is scheduled for two days and students are quite excited about the event and 300 faculty, staff and students visited the venue today.
