Not a single promise fulfilled- Time to oust the Modi led BJP government: Amarjeet Kaur, National Secretary CPI

Ludhiana, October 01, 2017: The BJP has been thoroughly exposed now as none of the promises it had made during the election in 2014 has been fulfilled and Achhe Din have remained a dream for the people. The situation is going from bad to worse day by day. Com Amarjeet Kaur, national secretary of the CPI who was addressing a general body meeting of the district unit of the CPI warned that Modi had promised 2 crore jobs every year but in fact the number of job losses have been 1.5 Crore during this period of three years. The government has now itself admitted that economy has reached serious slow down which is affecting the manufacturing as well trade sector and affecting job situation. The GDP has gone down by more than 2.5%. Rights of workers are being curtailed and contractualisation is being introduced in every sector. . Social security schemes including pension are being taken away. The agriculture sector which forms basis of country's economy is totally neglected. Agriculture inputs have become expensive because of which the farmers are not able to meet their expenditure and thus committing suicides in large number. Health services and education are being given to the private sector and are getting out of reach of common man. It has become difficult now for poor students to get admission in universities and other centres of higher education. Security of students particularly the girls has become a serious issue. The events like the one in BHU are a blot on the system and show the mindset of this government. History is being distorted to spread the saffronization. When people raise voice for their demands they are termed as anti nationals. Issues like the casteism and communalism are being used to divert attention of the people. Social harmony is being weakened. When even these issues do not work they create jingoism and war hysteria. They have no concern about how many people are killed and destitute in war times. But positive signal, Amar Jeet Kaur said, is that resistance against them is increasing and people are realizing their dangerous machinations. These voices have to be channelised. For this party has decided to hold a statewide rally on 27th November at Ludhiana to highlight all these issues.
Dr Joginder Dayal member central executive committee and national council member Bant Singh Brar addressed the meeting and said that the Punjab government is not meeting up to the expectations of the people. Their action of repression of farmers is condemnable. Party has decided to defeat the Akali BJP combine candidate at Gurdaspur.
Com Kartar Singh Bowani, District Secretary said that we will ensure effective participation in the 27th November rally. DrArun Mitra, Com D P Maur, Gulzar Gorea, Ramesh Rattan, Bharpur Singh, Kuldeep Singh Binder also addressed the meeting. Comrades in large number participaed in the deliberations and assured of full participation in the rally and it was decided to participate at least 3000 comrades in the rally.
