Nauni’s forestry students shine at the National level 

Sakshi Tomar, MSc student of the Department of Silviculture and Agroforestry(SAF), Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni has secured top rank in the ICAR-AICE-JRF/SRF-2023 examination in Forestry discipline conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. Besides this, Sakshi has also secured the first position in the UP State Eligibility Test for admission to PhD programme in Forestry. Sakshi has completed her Master’s degree from the Department of SAF under the supervision of Dr DR Bhardwaj, Professor and head of the department.

In another achievement for the department, Mitali Mehta, a PhD student of the department has been appointed as Scientist-B in the Indian Council for Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), Dehradun. Mitali has been posted at the ICFRE Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat in Assam. Mitali has completed her BSc and PhD degrees from UHF. Her doctorate was completed under the guidance of Dr. KS Pant.

 

Professor Rajeshwar Singh Chandel, University Vice Chancellor, Dr. CL Thakur, Dean College of Forestry and scientists and students of the Department of the SAF congratulated Sakshi and Mitali on the achievement and wished them the best for the future.
