National Seminar Cum Workshop on Educational Research: Emerging Methodologies and Trends

Chandigarh, August 24, 2023: A two-day National Seminar Cum Workshop on Educational Research: Emerging Methodologies and Trends, sponsored by RUSA was organized by CALEM and Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh started today. Prof. Satvinderpal , CALEM coordinator and Chairperson, Dept of Education, Prof. Monica Munjial, CALEM Co-coordinator and Prof. Kuldeep Kaur, program coordinator welcomed the dignitaries. In the inaugural session Prof. Rumina Sethi, DUI, Panjab University, Chandigarh asserted that we should not be pre occupied in the past and for productive future we should read not just widely, but also wildly.

Prof. Krishna Kumar, former Director NCERT, renowned educationist and Padma Shri awardee while delivering key note address highlighted the concept of education in the contemporary world and its connection to the responsibility of conducting educational research in a broader way. He highlighted the stagnant state of research in education and urged the participants to free themselves from old, rigid frameworks. Professor Rajeev Puri, the RUSA coordinator emphasized the promotion of innovation.

First session of the panel discussion was moderated by Prof. Nandita Singh and panelists included Prof. I.D. Gaur, Prof. Harsh Gandhar, Prof. Monica Munjial Singh, Prof. Jayanti Dutta and Dr. Pankaj Srivastava. The speaker for the second session was Prof. Kuldip Puri, who deliberated on exploring new areas of educational research away from the conventional and conservative domains. The third session was conducted by Prof. Kavita Singh from NCERT, New Delhi on the topic “Emerging Methodologies in Educational Research”.
