National Science Day commemorated at PU

Chandigarh, March 1, 2023: The Department of Statistics Panjab University celebrated the National Science day to commemorate the discovery of Raman Effect by Sir Chandrasekharan Venkata Raman on February 28,2023.  In this regard the Msc students and research scholars of the department organised various events like poem recitation, live presentation and quiz competition.

The students gave presentations on the theme of National science day titled “ Global Science for Global Well - Being “ and also on “Famous Statisticians” . Students participated in the quiz competition which comprised of five teams ( Poisson, Normal, Gamma, Uniform and Geometric) out of which the Team Uniform was declared as the winners.  

The Chairperson of the Department Dr Anju Goyal, Faculty Prof. Sangeeta Arora , Dr Savita Jain and Dr Prerna Bhardwaj along with the non teaching staff, research scholars and students attended the event.
