Jalandhar, February 9, 2026: A motivational and informative talk on joining the Indian Army as an Agniveer was organised for NCC cadets at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. The session was delivered by Colonel Viplove, Director Recruitment, Jalandhar Cantonment, who inspired cadets with valuable insights into the Agniveer scheme and the proud tradition of service in the Indian Army.
Addressing the cadets, Colonel Viplove highlighted the opportunities, career prospects, discipline, leadership qualities and national service associated with joining the Army. He explained the eligibility criteria, selection process, physical and written tests, and preparation strategies for aspiring candidates. Emphasising the importance of physical fitness, mental strength and dedication, he motivated the cadets to pursue a career in the armed forces with confidence and commitment.
Dr. Karanbir Singh, Associate NCC Officer of the college, welcomed the guest and stressed the crucial role of NCC in shaping disciplined, responsible and patriotic youth. He encouraged cadets to take full advantage of such guidance sessions to prepare for a bright future in the defence services.
Subedar Major Gulzar Singh of 2 Punjab NCC Battalion was also present on the occasion and shared his experiences of military life, motivating cadets to uphold the values of courage, integrity and service to the nation. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of NCC cadets, who interacted with the speaker and clarified their doubts regarding recruitment and training.
