Meeting held for preparations for CPI & CPI(M) joint rally of 17 December by Ludhiana District Executive Committee of CPI
Ludhiana, November 11, 2018: The Ludhiana district executive committee of the Communist Party of India (CPI) strongly criticized the RSS patronized Modi government for spreading communal venom with the sole aim to garner votes in the upcoming general elections. The party will jointly organize a state wide rally along with the CPI (M) to expose the BJP government at centre on 17th December at Ludhiana. Speaking on the occasion, Com.Bant Singh Brar, state secretary of the CPI cautioned that after having failed on all fronts the BJP government is now desperately trying to create such situation where they can win the Parliamentary elections. They have undermined all constitutional bodies. They are even threatening the judiciary and even defying Court in the name of ‘Aastha’. The ploy to build temple in Ayodhya and change the name of Faizabad are pointer to this. He also criticized the state government for its anti-people policies. It is a shame, he said that the teachers are being asked to work at a salary of Rs.15,000/- only whereas they have been getting Rs. 45,000/- till date. The party fully supports the demands of the agitating teachers. The executive committee charted out detailed plan of organizing pre rally public meetings in Ludhiana, Jagraon and Machhiwara on 20th and 21st November. A state wide Jatha will be coming to the district in this connection on these dates. Party meeting also criticized the role of local police for its apathy towards the issues of the people.
