UHSR bids farewell to six employees, VC Dr Aggarwal lauds their contribution to institution’s growth

Rohtak, October 30, 2026: The Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR) organised a farewell ceremony on Friday to honour one doctor and five employees retiring from the institution, acknowledging their dedicated services and contributions.

The retirees included Dr Shashi Bala, PRO Seema Dahiya, Senior Nursing Officers Sushila and Bimla, MPHS Shakuntala Devi and Class IV employee Ramesh. They were felicitated with mementoes at a ceremony held at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium in the Vice-Chancellor's office.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Dr H.K. Aggarwal thanked the retirees for their valuable services and said an institution grows on the dedication and contribution of its employees. He described retiring in good health as a blessing and urged them to remain engaged in social service, calling retirement the beginning of their "second innings".

Registrar Dr Roop Singh said retirement was an inevitable phase of life but the institution would always remain their home, with its doors open whenever they needed assistance. Dean Academic Affairs Dr M.G. Vashisht recalled his long association with Dr Shashi Bala, saying they had joined MBBS and BDS courses in the same year.

Dean Dr Ashok Chauhan praised the dedication and work ethic of UHSR employees, adding that their professional commitment made them sought-after even after retirement.

Medical Superintendent Dr Sudhir Atri appreciated the retirees for completing their service without controversy and in good health. Dean Students' Welfare Dr Savita Singhal also acknowledged their invaluable contribution and wished them a stress-free and fulfilling second innings.

Sharing her experience, Dr Shashi Bala said she had spent 45 of the finest years of her life at the institution and expressed gratitude for the affection and support she had received. She also emphasised that professionals familiar with an institution's functioning were better placed to lead it effectively and strengthen patient care.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of mementoes to the retirees and wishes for their healthy and happy future.
