Rohtak, August 19, 2026: Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has intensified its anti-ragging campaign across departments, sensitising students about the harmful consequences of ragging, legal provisions and complaint mechanisms. Students took the anti-ragging oath, pledging to uphold a safe, respectful and ragging-free campus.

Proctor Prof. Randeep Rana said the university follows a zero-tolerance policy on ragging and warned that students found involved would face strict action as per rules. He urged students to report any incident to the university administration immediately.

At the Centre for Disability Studies, a quiz on “Say No to Ragging — Respect, Dignity and Safe Campus” was organised, followed by an anti-ragging oath in Indian Sign Language. Similar awareness programmes, including poster-making, slogan writing, documentary and short-film screenings, were held in the Departments of Zoology, Botany, Psychology, Chemistry, English and Foreign Languages, Genetics and Medical Biotechnology.

The Law Department organised an expert session by advocate Dr Vijay Kaushik on disciplinary and legal action in ragging cases, along with screenings of UGC and MHRD awareness videos. The Department of Environmental Sciences also held an awareness session, dialogue and slogan competition, with faculty, research scholars and staff taking the anti-ragging oath.

The university reiterated that collective awareness, prompt reporting and strict enforcement are essential to maintaining a safe and dignified academic environment.
