MD Milkfed orders enquiry into Ludhiana milk plant case

Chandigarh, July 13, 2014: Taking a serious view of the reports published in a section of media regarding the Ludhiana Milk Plant on Saturday, the Managing Director (MD), Milkfed Alaknanda Dyal has ordered an enquiry into the entire matter.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Mrs. Dyal had constituted an enquiry committee comprising Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Milkfed and Heads of Finance, Procurement and Marketing sections to look into all the aspects of this issue and submit the report within a month.  The spokesperson further said that the Managing Director, whose current tenure had started in April, 2013, had made it clear that neither a clean chit was given to any officer nor was any mention made about any persons other than the aspects already existing in the office records and comments already sent to audit.
On the issue of milk procured from March, 2011 to March, 2012 from M/S Ganesh Sewa Samiti, Rajasthan the spokesperson further said that comments of Milkfed were sent to the Audit Department in the month of January, 2014 vide letter No.PSF/DMA-II/SAR/209 dated January 3, 2014 adding that these comments were based on the proceedings of Production Planning meetings held in the year 2011 and year 2012 and the relevant office records including resolutions of Board of Directors of Milkfed.  The spokesperson said that since the nominee of Milkfed was on the Board of all Milk Unions including Milk Union, Ludhiana, the nominee had to attend meetings of Board of Milk Union, Ludhiana and the comments on all the agendas to be presented in the Board’s meeting were sent, including this issue. The comments sent in Ludhiana Board’s meeting were based on the comments already sent to Audit based on office record as stated above and the audit note of Audit Officer Ludhiana dated June 11, 2014 did not reach the office of Milkfed before the comments were presented in the Board of Directors meeting, added the spokesperson.
