Lyallpur Khalsa College Wins Runner-up Trophy in GNDU Zonal Youth Festival
Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, has once again demonstrated excellence beyond academics by securing the First Runner-up Trophy in the ‘C’ Zone Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The college continues to shine not only in academics, research, and sports but also in cultural pursuits, adding another remarkable achievement to its legacy.
Jalandhar, October 30, 2025: Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, has once again demonstrated excellence beyond academics by securing the First Runner-up Trophy in the ‘C’ Zone Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The college continues to shine not only in academics, research, and sports but also in cultural pursuits, adding another remarkable achievement to its legacy.
A total of 18 colleges from Jalandhar district participated in the festival held at GNDU, Amritsar. Lyallpur Khalsa College participated in 36 events and earned the coveted runner-up trophy with an impressive 113 points.
On this proud occasion, Balbir Kaur, President, College Governing Council, and Deepinder Singh Purewal, Vice President, congratulated Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina, and the entire cultural team along with the participating students for their outstanding performance.
Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur attributed this success to the visionary leadership of Sardarni Balbir Kaur and the collective hard work of faculty and students. She remarked that Lyallpur Khalsa College remains deeply committed to the holistic development of its students and continues to excel in every sphere.
Dr. Palwinder Singh Bolina, Dean Cultural Affairs, shared that the college bagged:
• First Place in Bhangra, Ludi, War Singing, Folk Song, Folk Orchestra, Skit, Ghazal, and Poster Making
• Second Place in Debate, Quiz, Western Instrument Solo, Western Group Song, Group Song (Indian), Group Shabad, Rangoli, Mime, One Act Play, Costume Parade, Classical Instrument (Percussion), Classical Vocal, and Kavishree
• Third Place in Giddha, Choreography, Phulkari, Elocution, Clay Modeling, Painting on the Spot, and Classical Dance
He also commended the dedicated efforts of the teacher in-charges, including Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh, Dr. Surbjit Singh, Dr. Harjinder Kaur, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Dr. Manju Joshi, Prof. Navneet Kaur, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Jasdeep Singh, Prof. Rakhi Talwar, Prof. Kiran Amar, Prof. Mayuri, Prof. Sonia, Prof. Ritika, Prof. Sanjay Shad, Prof. Sahil, Prof. Bhagwat Kumar, Prof. Amrita, and other faculty members whose support made this achievement possible.
Dr. Bolina added that the student performers are now preparing enthusiastically for the Inter-Zonal Youth Festival of GNDU, scheduled to be held from November 7 to 10, 2025.
On this occasion, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Dr. Rashpal Sandhu, and Dr. Harjit Singh also extended their congratulations to the winning students and wished them continued success in their future endeavors.
