Jalandhar, April 28, 2026: Lyallpur Khalsa College is committed for its contribution towards social welfare and keeps organizing & participating in such activities. Recently, when Punjab Home Guards, Civil Defence & Training Jalandhar organized a Mock Drill, college N.S.S. unit and Disaster Risk Reduction & Mgt Club participated in the drill with full compliance. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu in his message said that natural disasters can happen anytime and anywhere but proper training and drills can effectively minimize the damage. He said that these mock drills are more significant for border states like Punjab. Moreover, last year's experience taught us a lesson that preparedness is crucial for rescue operations in natural and man made disasters.
Chief N.S.S. Program officer Prof. Satpal Singh informed that 40 NSS volunteers attended training under the scheme of Capacity Building of Defence in January 2026. These NSS volunteers actively participated in this mock drill and showed their willingness to act as civil warriors in any such situation.
These NSS volunteers were guided and supervised by Prof. Satpal Singh, Prof. Ranju Mahajan, Prof. Ravneet Kaur and Prof. Harshveer Arora.
