Lyallpur Khalsa College students receive scholarship money from Jatt Sikh Council

Jalandhar, April 4, 2026: Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, provides scholarships to needy and meritorious students, assists them in pursuing their studies, and motivates various non-governmental social welfare organizations to support meritorious students. Under this initiative, The Jatt Sikh Council (Regd.) provided scholarship money of Rs. 45,000 to deserving students. The chief guest of the event, President of the Jatt Sikh Council, Kuljit Singh Hair, along with Finance Secretary Sukhbahar Singh and other council members, were welcomed by S. Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary of the Governing Council, and Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu.
In his welcome speech, Jaspal Singh Waraich shared that the Jatt Sikh Council, formed in 2010, has been consistently providing financial assistance to meritorious students of the college. He also highlighted that during natural calamities like floods, the council helped victims with around Rs. 8 lakh. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu thanked the members of the council and emphasized the importance of such initiatives for student motivation and financial support.
The scholarship of Rs. 45,000 was awarded to nine students: Prabhjot Singh, Ramanpreet Kaur, Gurpreet Singh, Kirandeep Kaur, Sehajpreet Kaur, Arshdeep Kaur, Gagandeep Singh, Gursimran Kaur, and Amanpreet Kaur. The chief guest encouraged the students to set goals and work hard to achieve them. Principal Dr. Sandhu remarked that the Jatt Sikh Council’s support not only eases financial burdens but also inspires students to pursue further studies and achieve success. The role of stage secretary was performed by Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon.
