Lyallpur Khalsa College Organizes Jalandhar Zone Level Quiz Competition
The P.G. Department of Geography, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Association of Punjab Geographers, successfully organized a Jalandhar Zone Level Quiz Competition.
Jalandhar, March 5, 2026: The P.G. Department of Geography, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Association of Punjab Geographers, successfully organized a Jalandhar Zone Level Quiz Competition. The program was graced by the Principal, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring address, he appreciated the initiative taken by the P.G. Department of Geography in organizing such an important academic event at the Jalandhar Zone level.
Dr. Sandhu emphasized that quiz competitions not only enhance students’ knowledge but also help in developing critical thinking, confidence and a spirit of healthy competition. Appreciating the enthusiastic participation of different colleges, he encouraged students to continuously strive for excellence and apply geographical knowledge in real-life situations. On the occasion, he also felicitated the winning teams with mementos and certificates.
Dr. Pooja Rana, Head of the Department of Geography, informed that eight colleges participated in the competition. Govt. College of Education, Jalandhar secured the first position, Doaba College, Jalandhar secured the second position and Lyallpur Khalsa College for Women, Jalandhar secured the third position. The main objective of the quiz competition was to evaluate students’ knowledge in academics as well as beyond academics and to promote scholastic excellence through healthy competition.
At the end of the program, Dr. Pooja Rana congratulated the winners and thanked the Principal, faculty members and participants for making the event a grand success. She also highlighted the importance of Geography as a subject in various competitive examinations such as UPSC, IAS, PCS and IPS. On this occasion, Prof. Harjit Singh (Head, Department of Mathematics), Prof. Hari Om Verma, Prof. Sandeep Ahuja, Prof. Kamalpreet Kaur, Prof. Ishu, Prof. Kartik and other faculty members were also present.
