Jalandhar, September 23, 2025: The PG department of Computer Science & IT at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized an annual event "Agaaz-e-Azal".
The event, aimed at fostering creativity and showcasing the talents of the students of Journalism and Mass Communication was marked by enthusiastic participation and a range of activities designed to highlight the diverse skills of the young journalists.
The event was inaugurated by the College Principal, Dr.Suman Chopra, along with Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Head of Department. The department gave a formal welcome to the dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Dr. Suman Chopra, emphasized the importance of such events in providing a platform for students to express their creativity and hone their skills in Journalism and Mass Communication. She congratulated the students for their efforts in organizing the event and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in their chosen fields.
Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, Head of the Department, spoke about the significance of 'Agaaz-e-Azal' in promoting cultural and intellectual engagement among students. He highlighted how the event provides an excellent opportunity for students to explore various facets of journalism, from writing and reporting to broadcasting and digital media. This event was organized by the students of  BAJMC 5th semester as part of their Academic Curriculum. 
On the day of the event, the students participated in a variety of contests including Add- Mad, Photography, News Reading, and Radio Jockeying. There werealso many cultural activities where students showcased their talents and skills through various cultural performances.
Prizes were awarded to the winners by the Head of the department, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand who congratulated the winners and encouraged all participants to continue striving for excellence.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the student representative.
The stage handling was done by Simona, Ramandeep and Natasha.Staff members Rajat kaur, Anjali Bhardwaj, Monica along with students of the department were present in the event.
