The Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a one-day workshop on the McKenzie Technique.
Jalandhar, March 17, 2026: The Department of Physiotherapy, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, organized a one-day workshop on the McKenzie Technique. The proceedings commenced with a traditional shabad recitation. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu and Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, Dr. Raju Sharma, welcomed the resource person, Dr. A.G.K. Sinha, Professor of Physiotherapy and former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Punjabi University, Patiala, with a bouquet. Principal Dr. Sandhu, in his opening remarks, underscored the critical importance of practical, hands-on training in medical education and congratulated the students on the opportunity to engage with a distinguished expert in the field of physiotherapy.
Dr. Sinha delivered an interactive session on the epidemiology of low back pain, its etiological factors, and associated pain syndromes. He described the theoretical foundations of the McKenzie Technique and conducted practical demonstrations on student volunteers. He emphasized its efficacy and safety as a premier intervention for low back pain, advocating patient education and active management over passive modalities. Participants from BPT III Year, BPT IV Year, and BPT interns actively participated in the question-answer session. Final-year students expressed gratitude for the lucid and engaging exposition of concepts.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from departmental faculty, including Dr. Jaswant Kaur Sandhu, Dr. Priyank Sharda, Dr. Anjali Ojha, Dr. Vaishali Mohindru, Dr. Alisha Kamboj, and OPD staff Dr. Amanjit Kaur. At last, Dr. Anjali Ojha, Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, proposed the formal vote of thanks, marking the successful conclusion of the workshop.
